At this moment I am literally obsessed with pencil shavings! I even dream about pencil shavings. Right now they are my main material. I spend my time looking for the right pencils, with the right kind of wood, the right colors and the right amount of gloss. Then I look for the best price to buy them in bulk. I look for the best sharpeners. The thickness of the wood and the edges have to be just right. When I find the right sharpener, I buy more then one. They ware out in about one or two weeks. I tend to overuse them a bit. Then I sharpen hundreds of pencils and use the shavings for my artwork. My fingers are blistered from it, but I can't stop. I also keep the sharpened points, just in case I might want to use them one day. You don't want to know what I keep as art material. I have a garage full of “materials”, most people will probably think it is garbage, until they see what I can make of it. Here are some pictures of what I make of pencil shavings and the process of making it. I hope you like it. Please let me know, I enjoy your feedback!
